Action

Calcium

500 mg

Calcium supplementation is critical for maintaining bone health.  Calcium is important in the maintenance of a regular heartbeat and the transmission of nerve impulses.  It may also be involved in helping maintain healthy blood pressure, lowers cholesterol, and helps prevent cardiovascular disease.  It may protect against colon cancer.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

100 mg

ALA is likely the most powerful antioxidant.  Unfortunately, our body produces less ALA as we get older (the time we need it most!).  ALA helps to neutralize the effects of free radicals on the body by enhancing the antioxidant properties of vitamins C and E and glutathione.  It also plays a role in the proper functioning of two key enzymes that convert food into energy.  It is also essential for the metabolism of blood sugar, and is very important in diabetes.

Quercetin

100 mg

Quercetin has been used for treating atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, and other cardiac diseases.  It is also helpful in the treatment of diabetes, allergies, asthma, viral infections.  Some research indicates that it may play a role in the treatment of cancer.

Co-Q-10

25 mg

Co-Q-10 isn’t considered a true vitamin because it is synthesized in the cells, although it does behave like a vitamin.  It is important in energy production (especially in the heart, liver and immune system).  It is a very powerful antioxidant, and may help prevent cell damage (and therefore may help slow the aging process).  Much of the research has been on Co-Q-10 and the heart, and shows that it may help angina, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular problems.  As an antioxidant, it is also likely important in the prevention of cancer, and may help chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction.

Indole-3-Carbinol (I-3-C)

200 mg

I-3-C is a substance found in vegetables.  It is thought to be helpful in preventing or treating cervical dysplasia.  It may also help prevent breast and colon cancer.  I-3-C may also be helpful in regulating hormones and in treating fibromyalgia.

Soy Extract 40% Isoflavones

200 mg

Soy is likely effective in the treatment of high cholesterol and in lowering blood pressure. It is frequently used to reduce some of the symptoms of menopause (especially hot flashes). It may also reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Tocotrienols 5%

25 mg

Tocotrienols are important in maintaining heart health and in enhancing the immune system. Tocotrienols are part of the Vitamin E family, and share Vitamin E’s ability to improve circulation and lower cholesterol.  They are also powerful antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties.  Initial research indicates that they may also help in the prevention and treatment of cancer.
