Amount

Action

Vitamin A (as natural beta carotene)

5000 IU

Vitamin A plays an important role in immune system function, it helps protect the body from heart disease and cancer, and it is important for the proper function of the skin and eyes. Vitamin A also acts an antioxidant, and is necessary for new cell growth. Protein cannot be utilized by the body without vitamin A.

Chromium

400 mcg

There is growing evidence that many disorders of glucose metabolism (e.g., diabetes) may be due to deficiencies of chromium. Because of its role in insulin production and glucose regulation, it may also help in reducing body fat and in decreasing cholesterol. Chromium is needed for energy.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

200 mg

ALA is likely the most powerful antioxidant. Unfortunately, our body produces less ALA as we get older (the time we need it most!). ALA helps to neutralize the effects of free radicals on the body by enhancing the antioxidant properties of vitamins C and E and glutathione. It also plays a role in the proper functioning of two key enzymes that convert food into energy. It is also essential for the metabolism of blood sugar, and is very important in diabetes.

Lutein 5%

3 mg

Lutein is one of the major pigments of the retina in the eye. It belongs to the family of carotenoids. Lutein may be important in reducing the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts. It is also a very potent antioxidant helping to prevent free radical damage to tissues. Lutein may also reduce the risk of developing colon cancer.

Bilberry 25%

100 mg

Helps to control insulin levels, hypoglycemia, and acts as a diuretic. May help strengthen connective tissue; and decrease inflammation, stress and anxiety. Bilberry is also thought to help with night blindness, cataracts, and may help halt or prevent macular degeneration.

Centella Asiatica 10% (Gotu Kola)

100 mg

Centella is important in maintaining a healthy microcirculation, especially in the kidneys and eyes. It can reduce fatigue and improve memory. It is thought to be especially helpful in reducing varicose veins. Some research indicates that Centella can enhance immune function and help maintain GI tract health.

Butchers Broom Extract 10%

200 mg

Butchers Broom is thought to relieve inflammation, and may be helpful in carpal tunnel syndrome, circulatory disorders, swelling and obesity. It is also used as a diuretic and laxative, and may have anti-inflammatory properties.

Vanadium

0.1 mg

Vanadium is needed for cellular metabolism and for the formation of bones and teeth. A vanadium deficiency may be linked to cardiovascular and kidney disease and impaired reproductivity.

Vinpocetine

5 mg

Vinpocetine is a man-made chemical that may be effective in improving memory and brain function. It may also be helpful in the treatment of menopausal symptoms and diabetes.
